A portrait of Anna Sawai as lady Mariko in the movie Shogun.
In this portrait I used charcoal to make the sketch. After fixating the charcoal I used acryli paint and glazing medium to give the portrait a kind of transparency and roughness which is symbolic for the character Mariko.
