This painting is study of the original famous oilpainting of the dutch painter Jan Asseleijn (1650).
It was a big challenge to paint the feathers in the way Jan did.
I think it's amazing that Jan could paint this beautiful animal without a reference picture.
I used panpastel, pastelsticks and pastelpencils.
